Mitosys

Mitosys is a new cryptocurrency, mined through a proof of work that enables relaying encrypted transmissions over the internet or through informal parallel peer-to-peer networks. It's heavily inspired by Bitmessage. As of December 20th 2013 there does not seem to be too much activity.

Data is temporarily stored in the blockchain, which is pruning itself to keep size down - unlike e.g. Namecoin and Datacoin that store data forever, and in fact most other coins store all data in the blockchain forever.

Rationale:

  • Stop spying
  • Bring affordable and secure communication to the masses.
  • Allowing people to communicate freely and universally.
  • To give a deeper meaning to mining, not only acquiring the right to store financial information that cannot be destroyed, but also acquiring the right of having one's information securely delivered in time.
